I solemnly swear or affirm, by whatever I hold
most sacred:
That I will be loyal to the profession of medicine
and just and generous to its members;
ad my life and practi
That I will lead my life and practice my art in
uprightness and in honor;
That into whatsoever house I shall enter, it shall
be for the good of the sick to the utmost of my
power, holding myself far aloof from wrong,
from corruption, from the tempting of others to
vice;
That I will exercise my art solely for the benefit
of my patients, and will give no drug, or perform
no operation, for a criminal purpose, even if
solicited, far less suggest it;
That whatsoever I shall see or hear of the lives
of patients which is not fitting to be spoken, I will
keep inviolably secret.
These things I do swear or affirm.

DEANS 18
\
FACULTY 20
Welcome
rexel N
D»
» of Mtmcm
I hether it was accepting us off the waitlist the day
before orientation, or granting an extra travel day
during our Sub-/ for that last residency interview,
the Drexel University College of Medicine's faculty
and staff have provided continuous support and
encouragement throughout the past four years. The
Deans have provided endless guidance, the faculty
has taught us the foundations and principals of
medicine, and our attending physicians have
emulated the art of patient interaction and care. All
their hard work has not gone unnoticed, and we, as
students, owe them everything for making these four
years great. Thank you to all the amazing teachers
and good friends we have made along the way as
we, the Class of 2010, have grown from students
into physicians.

•inally, it's our time to rule the school. But first, we
must complete our ERAS application, take the
USMLE Step 2 CK and CS, pass our medicine sub-
internship and neurology shelf, and fill out one last
survey. Then, we can coast for the rest of the year and
take that Spanish rotation in Costa Rica or vacation
in the Dominican Republic, Africa, or California
before we cross our fingers and pray to a god during
Match Day. If only we could stay seniors for another
one or two years....

Class Secretary /Treasurer
2006-2010)
The College of New Jersey
Columbia University
West field, New Jersey
Someone once told me "You cannot be really great at your work, if your work is all you are."
To that, I must thank all of the people who have made me who I am today.
First and foremost, to my family for knowing that this was the road 1 was destined to take
;ven before I had fully realized it myself but still allowed me to find my own way
lonetheless. I am so lucky to have your unconditional love and support as reminders of what
s most important in life.
To my girlies, thank you for helping me laugh my way through all the ups and downs over
he past four years. I am so glad that the infamous time "before we knew each other" was
jrief, because nothing about med school would have been the same without the three of you
>y my side.
To all my friends both near and far who supported me through this crazy life even without
cnowing what med students do all day, 1 will always appreciate your encouraging words and
'aith in me.
To my Drexel peers, it is hard to believe that this day has finally come. I am so grateful for
he amazing friendships I have gained during even the most stressful of times and under the
Tiost unlikely of circumstances. Each one will remain dear to me for many years to come. I
vish you all the best of luck in everything that you do.

I had an awesome time in Philadelphia. If I could do it over, I would
totally do the whole "East Coast experience" again. ..minus the med
school thing. Haha. Somebody asked me what the biggest thing that
I would miss about Philly, and I'm going to miss all of the people
that I met. Good peeps = good times. It's crazy to think that we're
doctors now. It feels like we just started last year. The four years at
Drexel has gone by so fast. But I'm hella looking forward to starting
residency. If anybody's going to visit California, holla!

Thank you to my parents for all their support throughout medical
chool and all of my 25 years of education. Thank you to my
brother and sister for their company and many visits to
Philadelphia, and for their relentless support. And thank you
especially to my husband Parth for walking through this long
journey with me, for keeping me sane through late nights of
tudying and hard days on rotations. I could never have done this
without you. I am so lucky to have found my lifelong partner at
Drexel.
I can't believe this day is finally here. Congratulations to the class

I want to thank my amazing parents, Abdi and Leily, for their
constant love and support. Your passion for life and love for all has
truly made me the compassionate person I am today. 1 am grateful to
jhave such an amazing aunt and uncle, Merhzad and Mohammad,
who have done nothing less than love me and treat me like a son. I
am fortunate to have a best friend as a brother who has always been
there for me through all the difficult parts of my life. Rashid, I wish
you the best in residency and can not wait for more exciting times
for both of us in the future. To my sweet and caring younger sister,
Tannaz, you have motivated me and inspired me more than you
know. I will never forget our long drives and conversations. To my
other sister and cousin, Zahra, I would like to thank for always being
the voice of reason. Even though you are only a few months younger
then me, you are wise beyond your years. Thank you from the
deepest part of my heart.

Thank you. Mom and Dad, Michelle. Effie. Paul, Helen, Helen and Diego.
Thank you tor believing in me.
And Death Shall Have No Dominion
And death shall have no dominion. Dead mean naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon; When their bones are picked clean and the
clean bones gone.
They shall have stars at elbow and foot: Though they go mad the) shall be sane.
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again; Though lovers be lost love shall not:
And death shall have no dominion.
And death shall have no dominion. Under the windings of the sea
They lying long shall not die windily; Twisting on racks when sinews give way,
Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break; Faith in their hands shall snap in two.
And the unicorn evils run them through: Split all ends up they shan't crack;
And death shall have no dominion.
And death shall have no dominion. No more may gulls cry at their ears
Or waves break loud on the seashores; Where blew a flower may a flower no more
Lift its head to the blows of the rain; Though they be mad and dead as nails.
Heads of the characters hammer through daisies; Break in the sun till the sun breaks down.
And death shall have no dominion.

Dearest family and friends.
I am so happy to finally be done with school! Although this has been a
long and hard journey it was well worth it. I remember those many hours
studying with J. Ro and Christof just trying to survive the next test. I will
never forget how Justin stabbed me in anatomy and when my cell fell from
the table in a cup of water on the floor at Buck's county coffee. Going to
D.R. was so much fun too! I feel so fortunate to have made good friends
and to have accomplished everything I wanted to in medical school. 2010
has certainly been the best year ever because I am graduating, getting
married, and starting my first choice internship all in the same year. Of;
course, I would have never made it this far if it weren't for my parentals,
Juan and Luisa, who I love very much. I also want to thank my sweettart
Ramin who has made these last three years the best of my life. Good luck
to everyone and I wish you all the happiness and prosperity in the coming
years.

To those who helped make a doctor out of me: Thank you!
To Mom, Pa, Kisa. Ingrid, Greta, Grandma and Grandpa, who sometimes
didn't hear from me for weeks: You kept sending mail, love, and banana
bread, and only asked for an occasional proof of life. I love you, my
cheeseheads!
To the rest of my WI fan club: thanks for understanding that when I came
home for break, all I wanted to do was sleep. I hope I can make it up to
you!
To my girls: CONGRATULATIONS, doctors! It's all downhill from here!
You have been my home away from home, my fun times, and the best
girlfriends anyone could ask for.
To M, who has been my strength, my understanding, and my confidence:
You make everything easier and that is the greatest gift. Congratulations to

Thank you to all of my friends and family who have supported me
throughout medical school. To my parents who in addition to their
enormous financial assistance, encouraged me to follow my dreams.
To the love of my life, Prachi, who has been there for me as a fellow
medical student and as the always supporting girlfriend. To my
brothers who have had to put up with my crazy schedule, lack of
time off and availability. To all of my fellow classmates/friends that
were a pleasure to work with during the basic science years and

wonderful professors and attendings that not only taught me the
material, but showed me what being a physician really meant.

My journey thru medical school has been life-altering. I have matured, met
the person I am ready to spend the rest of my life with, and I have met
wonderful and lifelong friends. None of which could not have been
possible without my family. Their encouragement and belief in me gave
me the confidence to move cross-country to make my dreams come true.
To my step-father Rick, you have always been the quiet strength in my life
and the one I can count on. To my brother Caden, leaving you at the age of
4 was incredibly hard and I thank you for taking our separation with a
smile and optimism for the future. To my mother, you have been the
example that has inspired me, the person to push me when I needed it, and
the confidant who always dispensed advice with insight and honesty.
Lastly, to the love of my life... Jamen, I can't imagine my future without
you in it. You are truly my best friend and soul mate, I wasn't even sure I
believed in that until I met you. Carol, Greg, and Casey thanks for being
the best future in-laws, I appreciate your support of our relationship. Uncle

To my family: Thank you for your love and support, for planning-

Dad, you have been great listeners and friends. I am grateful for I

successful as I am without all of you.
To Brian: Sometimes I cannot find the words to tell you how I
feel. I believed when I married you that together we could
overcome any challenge. There were times when my stress
seemed to fill our home, but you could always rein me in and
calm me down. You have this incredible skill of balancing our

I still remember walking into Aud A for our first exam and hearing Dr. Ferr
say, "The national board sets a pace of 1.2 minutes per question..." -her voice
trailed off as I thought to myself, "What in the world have I gotten into?" Four
years later I'm still not sure I know the answer to that but it's definitely been
without question the most interesting four years of my life. Actually, I think w
all know that "interesting" would be an understatement. The last 4 years have
been a complete blur and after the countless sleepless nights, empty coffee cup!
and burned out highlighters, we can finally say that we are doctors.
Congratulations to everyone!
For my friends: thanks for making mnemonics interesting, but more
importantly, I think it's safe to say that we've been through it all together. Let'
be honest -there's probably a few things that I would change, but if I had do it
again, I wouldn't have gone through it all with anyone else except you guys. If
haven't said it yet, thank you for being there, being supportive, and being

Thank you also to Kate, Jane, Dianna, Sara, Meg, Caroline and Michelle. Y
ladies have made my years here so much better. I know I could always rely on
you girls for anything, I can't wait to hear about all of your adventures in
residency.
The last and most important thank yous go to my family. To Davidson, Mon
Dad and Craig: I love you all so much, I could have never made it here without
your constant encouragement and unfailing belief that I would one day reach thi
moment.
Good luck Class of 2010, you will all make excellent physicians and I am so
lucky to have worked with you. I can't wait to work with some of you in the
future.

I want to give a special thanks to my husband, Nick, who has been so incredibly
supportive of my dream of going to medical school ever since we ate lunch that
day at Canyon Cafe. I couldn't have done it without you.
Thanks to Aiden, and even Mia though she doesn't know any differently yet, for
being such great kids and putting up with all the times you missed me because I
was at school or studying.
Thanks to all of my family, both Shaw and Tustison alike, for your support and
encouragement through the years.
Thanks to my amazing group of friends who at times pulled me through first and
second year classes, and then drove me around, reminded me when we had
rounds, and dragged me through rotations and studying for shelves. I truly never
would have gotten through without you guys.
1 also have to include a little note to my peeps in student affairs who just made m
life better all along the way. I am so grateful to have met, known, loved, and
worked with all of you.
So many of you have made a difference in my life, and I will forever be changed

The past four years have been some of the most difficult and yet
[rewarding in my life. I want to thank my mom, dad, sister, and cousins for their
endless support and encouragement. Thank you for bringing me food until I
learned to cook, for bleaching the germs out of my white coat, and for giving
me perspective during difficult times. You were all instrumental in helping me
finally answer the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up" and
actually making it happen.
I want to thank my friends for going through every hoop and obstacle with me.
For those outside of medicine, thank you for being my link to reality. Past
graduates, thank you for letting me know that each time I felt the world was
going to end it would always keep spinning. To my classmates, thank you for
the late night coffee breaks and other shenanigans. Thank you for letting me
monopolize the microphone during sessions of guitar hero. Thank you for
forcing me on trips to New York during thunderstorms when I only had a single
\\ eekend off. Ultimately, thank you for making my medical school journey
worthwhile and something to remember. Congratulations class of 2010!

n between studying for exams, coffee trips, and
on-call nights during clinical rotations, we
managed to have a lot of fun together as a class.
We partied the night away at welcome back
dances, got all dressed up for halloweens, over-
celebrated at class socials, and strutted our stuff
on stage at P ABC's. We certainly knew how to
work hard and play harder. The photos in the next
pages captured many smiles and laughs, an
occasional tear, as well as an embarrassing dance
move or two, but one thing is for certain, these
candid class photographs captured a lot of
fantastic memories. ..

only one week remaining before the end of
edical school, the culmination of years, if not
^decades, of hard work and dedication is bittersweet to
say the least. Through four years of medical school,
we all faced struggles that could not have been
overcome without the friends and colleagues that we
made along the way. Though graduation week is a
time to rejoice in our accomplishments, it is also a
time to thank our families for their support, and
remind our friends that this journey could only have
been accomplished with them at our side.

Words of Congratulations
uri
I hy/e
ur\ng our long road to graduation, many people
h<Je influenced our lives; friends, family, professors,
and mentors. Commencement is an important day for
us, serving as the culmination of many years of
schooling, hard work, and late nights cramming.
However graduation also serves as a shining moment
for everyone else who supported us along our journey
to M.D. In these next few pages, you will find words
of congratulations, memories from childhood, as well
as words of inspiration and advice, but most
importantly, these pages are a chance for friends and
family to say "We are so proud of you... "

Dear Marielle,
"Virtue is the center of all the felicities...
Virtue is the sun of the microcosm, and has
for hemisphere a good conscience. She is
so beautiful she finds favor with both God
and man..."
You have always amazed us Marielle with
your tenacity to achieve, with your desire to
see a better world, and your willingness to
put comforts aside in trying to make it so.
There is devotion in your eyes and yearning
for humanity to do better in caring for the
weakest among us.
It is, in a word, your virtue that we see you
striving for. And you are special with that
beauty blooming in your soul.
Love,
Dad, Mom, Kristen, and Jonathan
Clif,
Years ago a physician told me that when you are
a doctor, you have a chance to touch many
people in life, some for more and some for less.
It is a thought that gives you pause but we know
they will be better for knowing you since you are a
wonderful person.
-Mom, Dad, Jenny
